Moving your listings from eBay Listing Designer

  1. Your live eBay listings keep the description they were published with, so nothing needs to change straight away.
  2. Set up your new tool with your logo, delivery and returns details, and pick a design close to your old one.
  3. Use the new design for new listings, and replace the old design whenever you revise an older listing.
  4. Paste the new HTML into eBay's description (HTML view). Here's how to paste a template into eBay.

eBay Listing Designer alternatives: questions

Is eBay Listing Designer still available?

eBay retired Listing Designer: since 31 May 2020, its templates can't be used to create or revise listings. Listings that already used one kept it.

Can I still use eBay's Listing Designer?

No. eBay stopped allowing Listing Designer templates on new or revised listings on 31 May 2020. Older listings that used one kept their design.

What's the free alternative?

eBay's own description editor is free, but it gives you plain text and basic formatting. A template tool like Lystro gives you a designed, mobile-friendly layout to paste into the same box.

What's the best eBay Listing Designer alternative for eBay listing templates?

It depends on what you need. If you mainly want professional, mobile-friendly listings you design yourself, Lystro focuses on exactly that, with a 7-day free trial and no card needed. If you need a full store management suite or custom design work, the other tools on this page may suit you better.

Sources and how we compared

We make Lystro, so we've tried to be fair: facts about other tools come from their own websites (or, for closures, the source named below) on the date shown, and we list Lystro's limits too. Prices and features change, so check each site before you decide. “Not mentioned on their site” means we couldn't find it there, not that the tool can't do it.
