Moving on from inkFrog: what eBay sellers need to do
inkFrog shut down on 1 June 2026. What happened, what it means for your live eBay listings, how to choose a replacement, and how to move your listing designs over gradually.

Key answer
inkFrog shut down on 1 June 2026. Your live eBay listings keep the descriptions they were published with, so nothing breaks straight away. Choose a replacement for designing new listings, set up your store details, and switch older listings to the new design as you revise them.

If you used inkFrog to create and design your eBay listings, its closure left you needing a new way of working. Here's what happened, what it means for your listings, and how to move on without disrupting your sales.
What happened to inkFrog
inkFrog, the Wix-owned eBay listing and inventory tool, shut down on 1 June 2026. Users were given until 31 May to download their data. This was reported by Value Added Resource, among others.
What happens to your live listings
Your live eBay listings keep the description they were published with. The design inkFrog added is part of each listing's description HTML, which lives on eBay, so existing listings keep working and keep selling.
What you lose is the ability to create and update listings with inkFrog. New listings, and changes to existing ones, need another approach.
A few things to check on your live listings:
- Images: if any images in your descriptions were hosted by inkFrog, check they still display.
- Links and widgets: any features that depended on inkFrog's service may no longer work.
Open a few listings on a computer and on your phone to check.
Choosing a replacement
What you need depends on how you used inkFrog:
- If you mainly used it for listing designs, a template editor is the most direct replacement.
- If you used it for inventory, bulk listing or multiple marketplaces, you may want a fuller listing management tool.
Things to compare:
- Templates: mobile-friendly, without active content such as JavaScript, and suited to what you sell.
- Editing: a visual editor, so you don't need to edit HTML.
- Store details: entered once and filled into every listing.
- Price and trial: a price that suits how often you list, and a free trial.
Our page on inkFrog alternatives compares the main options side by side, including prices and what each tool suits.
Moving your designs over
You can't usually import an inkFrog design into another tool, but you can recreate your look quickly:
- Set up your store details: logo, delivery, returns, payment and about us.
- Choose a template close to your old design, and match your colours and fonts.
- Create new listings with your new design.
- Update older listings as you revise them: replace the old description in HTML view with your new design.
Start with your best-selling listings, and work through the rest over time. There's no need to change everything at once.
Keep a copy of your data
If you downloaded your data from inkFrog before it closed, keep it somewhere safe. Your item descriptions, photos and records may be useful when you recreate listings. If you didn't, your live listings on eBay still contain your descriptions and photos.
Lystro is one option for the design side: mobile-friendly templates without JavaScript, a visual editor, and a store profile that fills your details into every listing. You can try it free for 7 days with no card needed. Browse the templates.
Frequently asked questions
